Arrrgh!

work has been super crazy since mid march to the present date ... my colleague and i have been handling 7 groups concurrently for an approximate of 600+ people going on an alaska cruise between the 17 - 31 may, on top of other group and individual bookings we have... US visas, Canada visas, name changes, cabin swappings, printing of cruise documents, completing online check-ins, booking of shore excursions, more name changes , more cabin swapping , re-printing of cruise documents , re-printing of online check-ins .... arrrgh!! ... on most work days, we're mostly brain dead ... but the end of may is approaching and i see the the light at the end of the tunnel (haha ).. there is hope yet, for our mentally stressed and sadly exhausted brains..

"An Inconvenient Truth"

the above documentary by Al Gore is showing on HBO the whole of this week in conjunction with Earth Day on Monday, 14 April 2008... and i must say the show is very aptly titled.

the documentary message is this - if we do not help Mother Nature in preserving the earth, in about 50 years time, scientists predict that there will no longer be snow capped mountains, lakes and rivers would be all dried up, the arctic and antarctic would have mostly melted away, which will mean many parts of the world being covered by an overflow of water + the climate being hotter than what it already is, and most species of animals and plants will no longer exist...

as it is, many things are going against Mother Nature now... and if we want to leave a little of what we have now to our children and theirs, we have to step up and make some changes.. and every little bit counts.

Too Many Books?

eversince i signed up as an mph readers' circle member in mid december, i've been buying quite a few books.. novels mostly.... i think i've bought about 9 books so far = spending about RM280  (based on an average of RM32 per book, although 2 was a birthday gift)... wow, i don't think i've ever spent so much on books before within 2 months ... and if i remember correctly, to be able to collect points and exchange them for cash vouchers or enjoy free membership (or something like that), i would need to spend an average of RM50 a month.. so that would mean at least 1 really expensive book or 2 averagely priced books each month.. and books are not exactly cheap nowadays ... let's see how long i can keep this up ... and if i do, i'll be able to start a mini library soon, haha!... but i do love a good read, especially if it's an interesting one ... hmm... i wonder if i'll ever get to a stage where i'll have too many books to read? ... i also wonder if i'll ever get tired of reading? ...
